Overview

IMMEDIATE OPENING! The Snyder & Associates' Omaha/Council Bluffs office has immediate needs for a Survey Crew Chief.

 

Precise land surveying provides the groundwork for sound design and determines project success. Snyder & Associates, Inc. coordinates with project teams to provide the data owners, contractors, and design professionals need to complete projects quickly and efficiently. We excel at meeting challenging scheduling demands, even when the needs change once we arrive.

 

As a full-service engineering firm, our crews are spread out across the Midwest offering local community presence. Our survey group provides field support for the various engineering specialties we provide as well as specific survey needs upon request. Crews vary from one- to two-party teams depending upon the project requirements. All crews are equipped with RTK Network GPS rovers and robotic total stations to address a variety of survey needs.

Responsibilities

Responsible for performing as a surveyor or survey technician in all facets of surveying including but not limited to:

  • ALTA Surveys
  • Construction Staking
  • Boundary & Retracement Surveys
  • Aerial Control
  • LiDAR Verifications
  • Topographic Survey & Utility Mapping
  • As-Builts
  • Buildings & Structures
  • Acquisition Plats
  • Easements
  • Expert Witness
  • Micrositing
  • Control Networks
  • Flood Mapping & Cross Sections
  • Preliminary D.O.T. Surveys
  • Utility Survey and Staking

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in land surveying in North America
  • Must have demonstrated abilities functioning in two- and one-person survey crews
  • Team player who is able to contribute on an individual basis
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Efficient and safe work habits
  • Reliable, punctual and regular attendance
  • Ability to work outdoors in the elements for prolonged periods of time in a wide range of weather conditions
  • Ability to effectively and safely move on foot through active construction sites and undeveloped ground, uneven terrain and wooded sections of ground
  • Must be able to safely lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds of equipment
  • Must be able to follow and abide by all company policies and procedures
  • To meet project and client needs, overnight travel required on occasion
